Product Description
Klipsch’s Reference Premiere RP502SB II Two-Way Surround Speakers in an attractive ebony finish will fill your living room or home theatre with lifelike sound. The bidirectional design and proprietary Klipsch WDST (Wide Dispersion Surround Technology) emit sound effects and ambient surround sound in multiple directions, allowing it to fit almost any room size and deal with less-than-ideal speaker placement. This second generation has a larger soundstage and more accurate sound directivity due to 70% larger voice coils and a larger Tractrix horn. Through dual 1″ titanium LTS vented tweeters and dual 5.25″ Cerametallic cone woofers, they can each handle up to 100W RMS or 400W peak.
Klipsch’s proprietary Tractrix geometry in the horn is specifically designed to efficiently transfer the tweeters’ high frequencies to the listener. This Tractrix horn from the second generation is larger for better directivity and a wider overall soundstage. This level of audio fidelity and smooth frequency response is achieved by combining the Tractrix horn with a phase plug and a compressed moulded silicon face.
The LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) from Klipsch’s Reference line works to reduce distortion for more detailed audio reproduction.
This pair of surround speakers’ tweeter housing clarifies the high-frequency signal by reducing standing waves that would otherwise create unwanted harmonics.
The Cerametallic woofers are another distinguishing feature of Klipsch’s Reference Premiere speakers. These surround speakers feature dual 5.25″ woofers and a Cerametallic construction that keeps them lightweight but rigid, maximising acoustic efficiency and minimising distortion. Voice coils in the second generation are 70% larger in diameter to ensure flawless reproduction with improved power handling, cone control, and linearity. The addition of aluminium shorting rings improves power handling and reduces distortion, while the motor structure itself improves transit response and adds more control with increased speed and accuracy.
The RP502SB II has audiophile-grade wiring and easily accessible aluminium binding posts for any type of connection.
Klipsch employs internally braced, furniture-grade MDF for a long-lasting and appealing appearance. Satin-painted baffles with a scratch-resistant coating are included in the ebony vinyl finish.
You can leave the copper-colored woofer and tweeter exposed or hide them behind a speaker grille. The grille is magnetically attached to the RP502SB II’s front.
