RP500SAB II – Overview
Klipsch’s Reference Premiere RP500SAB II Dolby Atmos Elevation/Surround Speakers in an inviting walnut finish will add immersive realism to your home theatre. These versatile speakers can be wall-mounted and used as height or surround speakers, or they can be placed on top of Atmos-compatible floorstanding speakers to act as up-firing surrounds in a Dolby Atmos system. In either case, the angled design ensures that ambient environmental effects fill the room, drawing you deeper into what you’re watching.
The RP500SAB II are second-generation speakers that improve on the original by expanding the soundstage and producing more accurate directivity of sound. They are each capable of handling up to 70W RMS or 300W peak. The improved acoustics are due to a larger Tractrix horn in their 1″ titanium LTS vented tweeters, as well as 70% larger voice coils in their 5.25″ Cerametallic cone woofers.
Switchable Crossover
The integrated switchable crossover allows you to switch between regular surround and Atmos modes, optimising its performance based on your current speaker configuration.
90 x 90° Silicon Composite Hybrid Tractrix Horn
Klipsch’s proprietary Tractrix geometry in the horn is specifically designed to efficiently transfer the tweeters’ high frequencies to the listener. This Tractrix horn from the second generation is larger for better directivity and a wider overall soundstage. This level of audio fidelity and smooth frequency response is achieved by combining the Tractrix horn with a phase plug and a compressed moulded silicon face.
LTS Titanium Diaphragm Tweeters
The LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) from Klipsch’s Reference line works to reduce distortion for more detailed audio reproduction.
Vented Tweeter Design
This pair of surround speakers’ tweeter housing clarifies the high-frequency signal by reducing standing waves that would otherwise create unwanted harmonics.
